Prolific notifications
Get Prolific study notifications where you will notice them.
StudyChime is a Chrome extension that watches the Prolific studies page you already have open and alerts you when a visible study appears.
Choose browser notifications for the same computer, or send private study alerts to your phone through Discord, Telegram, or Pushover. StudyChime does not accept, reserve, complete, or submit studies for you.
How it works
Private alerts from your open Prolific page.
StudyChime reads the study information visible in your own open Prolific tab. When the visible list changes, it can send an alert through the destinations you have enabled.
The extension does not run a shared study feed or collect study availability from other users. Closing the Prolific tab stops StudyChime from seeing new studies until you open the page again.
What you need
- Google Chrome or a compatible Chromium-based browser
- The StudyChime extension installed and enabled
- A signed-in Prolific studies page kept open
- Permission for each notification method you choose

Install StudyChime
Add the Chrome extension, open its Settings page, and begin Quick Start. StudyChime requests access only to the Prolific pages needed for monitoring.
Choose notification methods
Enable browser notifications, sound, Discord, Telegram, or Pushover. Browser alerts are the simplest starting point; external providers are useful when you move away from the computer.
Test each destination
Use the test control for every configured method. A successful test confirms the provider details and permissions before you wait for a live study.
Connect the open studies page
Sign in to Prolific in the normal way, keep the studies page open, and enable StudyChime. Use the popup to check monitoring status or run a manual check.

Phone notifications
Discord, Telegram, and Pushover can deliver alerts to their mobile apps. Your computer must still be running Chrome with the Prolific studies page open.
External alert privacy
Provider credentials remain in Chrome extension storage on your device. Alert contents go directly from your browser to the destination you configure, so use a private channel or account you control.
Filters and schedules
If you use filtering or schedules, an alert is sent only when the visible study matches the active rules and the current time is inside the active alert window.

Can StudyChime notify me about new Prolific studies?
Yes. StudyChime can notify you when a study becomes visible on the Prolific studies page you have open and the study matches your current alert settings.
Does Prolific have to stay open?
Yes. StudyChime works from your open Prolific studies page. If that tab is closed, signed out, or unavailable, the extension cannot see changes to the study list.
Does StudyChime automatically refresh Prolific?
No. StudyChime does not automatically refresh or reopen Prolific in the background. It observes the page you choose to keep open.
Can I use several notification methods at once?
Yes. You can combine browser notifications, sound, Discord, Telegram, and Pushover. Test each destination separately so you know which routes are working.
Will a notification reserve the study for me?
No. Notifications are informational only. StudyChime does not accept or reserve studies, and a study may no longer be available by the time you open Prolific.
